というエラーが出た。
ぐぐってみると、Mac に入っている bash がめっちゃ古いというだけだった。
$ bash --version
GNU bash, version 3.2.57(1)-release (x86_64-apple-darwin24)
Copyright (C) 2007 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

Bash 4.0 が出たのは February 20, 2009 なので、さすがに、という感じもしつつ。
brew install bash して最新の bash を入れて解決。
$ bash --version
GNU bash, version 5.2.37(1)-release (x86_64-apple-darwin23.4.0)
